What is the Treatment for Lymphedema?

Lymphedema is a serious condition. It indicates that the Iymph system is unable to handle the Iymph load. Treatment should be started as soon as Iymphedema is diagnosed.

At present, the most effective and least invasive approach is that recommended by specialists in many European countries. This method is referred to as Complete Decongestive Therapy. The length of treatment depends on the severity and the duration of the Iymphedema. All treatments are performed by a therapist certified in Complete Decongestive Therapy and Manual Lymph Drainage (CDT/MLD).
